Hemorhoids – How to Prevent this?

As year pass by, hemorhoids become a common ailments mostly in the develop country.Different lifestyles of each individual can usually affect in the increasing number of those suffering from hemorrhoids. Statistics shows that hemorhoids usually occur at the age of 30.  But now more and more people are suffering from this ailment, no matter what their age and status in life.

So what is hemorhoids?

In laymen’s term, it is the varicose veins of the anus and rectum. There are 2 different types of hemorhoids:

  • External hemorhoids. This develops near the anus, covered by the skin but when blood clots break it will become painful and hard.
  • Internal hemorhoids. This is develops inside the anus under the lining. During bowel movements this will cause you to painlessly bleeding and swelling which are the usual symptoms. It can be very painful if swelling came down and it can’t be pushed back.

What contributes hemorhoids?

  • Pregnancy. Because of the hormonal change and weight of the unborn child and mother causes the blood vessels to swell, especially in the rectum.
  • Aging. The muscles and veins become weak thus it is prone to hemorhoids.
  • Heredity. Studies show that when one of the parents have hemorhoids, the child most likely to have the same ailments during childhood or adult hood.
  • Constipation. Having difficulties during bowel movements have the possibility to have this.
  • Improper Diet. Eating unhealthy foods have a big factor in hemoroid. You should eat plenty of fiber foods like fruits, vegetables, cereal with fiber and many more.
  • Drinks. You should drink plenty of water, natural juices and other healthy drinks like herbal drinks. You should avoid drinking too much soft drink, tea, coffee or any drinks that contains caffeine. They have a dehydrating effect that will result to constipation.
  • Lack of Exercise.

Here are some of the best treatments for hemorhoids:

  • Injection and Coagulation. This procedure is used in treatment for bleeding hemorhoids.
  • Ligation of the hemorhoids. Its other name is the rubber band treatment. This is done in the internal hemorhoids. Placing a small rubber band over the hemorhoids and then cutting its blood supply.
  • Stapling. It is a method where a device that staple internally and strike the hemorhoids. This does shrink down the hemorhoids but not remove it.
