People suffering from hemeroids seldom think that there is a light after the darkness of having them. They don’t know if they can get rid of them or if they will have them for a long time. So what is hemorhoids?

In laymen’s term, it is the varicose veins of the anus and rectum. There are 2 different types of hemorhoids:

• External hemorhoids. This develops near the anus, covered by the skin but when blood clots break it will become painful and hard.

So what is the relation of hemorhoids to pregnant women?

Actually, hemorhoids are what we can call varicose veins (swollen blood vessels) in the rectal area. It can be in a size of a pea up to the size of a cherry. Hemmroids is not that life threatening as you think it is. It is a common sickness which most pregnant women experienced and some are those in their 50s. But I am not saying that everybody who is pregnant or older may experience having this sickness. That is why we all need to be conscious enough with our health. We deserve check-up which can give us assurance whether we are healthy or not. But speaking for those who have hemmroids, they should not give up on trying getting out of it. Preventions and treatments are all obtainable in various ways. As long as they do not prolong the sickness, it can be cured as soon as they want it to. Patience should be practiced by those people suffering from hemmroids because in no time, if they have the positive attitude needed, their situation will change.

I am really proud of some people I know and have talked to who are experiencing hemmroids. They are able to continue doing things they are used to do in their everyday lives. They are able to survive despite the embarrassment it has given to them. They kept making themselves intact no matter how hard their situation can be. And it should be a guide for those people still doubted by how they can survive. Not all people have same way of thinking. Some are so optimistic but some are just not. But when you hear about same stories as you have right now, it should guide you and teach you to be positive. Come to think of it that if other people are able to survive, then why can’t you?

This is the story of how I got hemeroids and how I finally cured them. I’ve been in the same situation you probably are in right now. I had massive external hemeroids. I know how painful and excruciating piles can be. I know how even normal daily activities like sitting or riding a bike suddenly feel like torture. I know how embarrassing visits to the doctor get. And I know how frustrating it is to apply a cream regularly from which you don’t know if it works.

I’ve been through all of that. With this blog I want to help you overcome these problems and getting back your confidence and your lifestyle.  But how do you know that it really is hemeroids you are experiencing?

There are certain symptoms:

• Blood on your toilet paper or stool
• Itching in the rectal area
• Feeling of pressure in the anus
• Pain when sitting or walking

If you have one or more of these it is pretty certain that you are indeed having hemeroids. When I started researching my problem I wondered why no cure that a doctor prescribed hasn’t worked. Every cream, medicine and treatment I’ve bought only brought a short relief. The itching and burning always came back and I was in a vicious cycle of spending even more money on cures that didn’t deliver results.  Then I finally realized:

Common hemeroids cures only bring relief of the symptoms. They don’t cure the root of all this. If I’m not going to find a way to cure hemeroids once and for all I will have to spend lots of money for ineffective treatments for the rest of my life. Creams and Ointments

Most people don’t like to talk about them but ignoring hemeroids completely won’t make them go away. In the last months I’ve written about lots of ways to get rid of piles, mainly drinking lots of water, eating fiber-rich foods and not sitting for prolonged periods of time. North Dakota-based TV station KFYR claims that all this won’t make hemeroids go away.

According to their research surgery is the only way to go. But as most people don’t even talk about hemeroids to their doctors they found another person that removes piles with a completely different method: physical therapist Elizabeth Jones.

Jones’s method isn’t new. It has been around since the 1940s and is called the Keesey technique. However it is not completely without pain. During this procedure which is also known as hemorrhoidolysis the swollen veins are touched by an electrode. The electric current forces the hemmoroid to change inside. It shrivels into the lining of the colon. The acual treatment only takes a few seconds. And one can apply the electrode to multiple hemeroids during one session. Afterwards, so Jones says, people can go home instantly without any pain whatsoever. The article sadly doesn’t mention what this procedure costs but is says that Blue Cross Blue Shield covers it while Medicare does not. This method only works with internal hemeroids.

For external hemeroids there is a procedure called rubber banding. This means that a rubber band is applied to the hemmoroid and covers it completely. Blood flow is reduced and the protruding vein falls off in about a week.

While hemorrhoidolysis and rubber banding certainly sound effective I always would choose a natural method over some medical procedure. Especially for people who don’t like to talk to anyone about their piles let alone show them there are much better ways to get rid of hemeroids fast while doing it in the privacy of your home.

Signs of this condition are blood in the stool, itching in the anus or soreness for the period of constipation. Even if you already experience these unpleasant symptoms, you can alleviate the dilemma by avoiding the three most common mistakes.

By not committing these three errors you will have a fairly good chance to prevent hemeroids altogether. And preventing them surely is better than to get rid of them when you are already tortured by the itching and burning. If you discover blood in your stool it probably is too late. What are hemeroids?

Hemeroids are a painful disease in the rectum in which varicose veins in or around the opening of the anus are swollen, inflamed, irritated and simply unpleasant. Rectal bleeding is very common and pain may be mild or serious.

The most frequent causes of hemeroids are sitting for long periods of time (typicaly for truck drivers as well as many office workers), chronic or frequent constipation and dietary irritants (eg, coffee, alcohol, red pepper, mustard) . Dietary treatment of hemeroids

The recommended daily dose of fiber is 25 to 30 grams, but most adults eat just half that amount in their day to day lives. You can raise the amount of fiber in your diet each day a little bit.
Another possibility to get more fiber is to take natural fiber supplements:

• Psyllium Seed Husks: For more fiber in your diet eat 2 to 4 teaspoons per day with water. If you have constipation, increase to 4 to 10 teaspoons a day
• Triphala: This is a herbal combination available in many health-food stores.
• Ground flaxseed: take 1 to 2 tablespoons daily with meals: It may be added to cereals, smoothies, soups, salads and stews.

Several herbal products are effective therapies in the treatment of hemeroids. Topical treatment can help against the inflammation and pain. Keep these items in the refrigerator so they will be cool when you are using them.

• Aloe Vera: Apply three to four times daily or as needed.
• Ayurvedic Remedy: Mix ½ teaspoon of turmeric and 1 teaspoon of clarified butter and apply before going to bed three nights in a row. Then stop for two nights and do it again for three nights. Repeat these models until the hemeroids have disappeared.
• Witch hazel solution: Soak cotton packed with witch hazel and apply to the hemeroids between 15 to 20 minutes twice a day.
• St. John’s Wort: The ointment may help with the itching and burning. Refer to the instructions on the package.

Here are some oral herbal therapies which are very useful:

• Bromelain: Although this is primarily known as a digestive enzyme  it may also help with the inflammation.
• Butcher’s broom (Ruscus aculeatus): The extract of the root contains ruscogenins which has the ability to tighten, reduce swelling and inflammation and strengthens the vein walls.
• Horse chestnut (Aesculus hippocastanum): The extract contains aescin that works against inflammation improves vein elasticity, strengthen vein walls and reduces fluid retention.
• Japanese pagoda tree (Sophora japonica): extracts may strengthen vein walls and preserve their general health, but they also provide relief from hemorrhoids symptoms like the itching, pain and discomfort.
